Terms of Service for DriveForge
Effective Date: August 2026
By accessing, browsing, or utilizing DriveForge ("the application", "service", or "software"), you acknowledge and explicitly agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept all terms outlined herein, do not use this application.
1. Nature of the Software & Solo Maintenance
DriveForge is an open-source, client-side utility maintained by an independent individual developer. There is no dedicated engineering team, commercial backing, ongoing security operations center, or continuous vulnerability assessment pipeline. Updates and maintenance occur entirely at the developer's sole discretion.
2. Client-Side Processing & Hardware Performance Limits
- Local In-Memory Operations: All archiving, packaging, file reading, compression, and extraction tasks are executed entirely inside your client web browser and local hardware memory (RAM).
- Memory Crashes & Out-of-Memory (OOM) Events: The capacity to compress or extract large archives depends entirely on your device's available RAM, CPU performance, and browser resource constraints. The developer is not responsible for browser freezes, tab crashes, system unresponsiveness, or lost sessions caused by resource-heavy workloads.
- Data Corruption & Incomplete Streams: Network interruptions or browser memory limits during streaming may result in incomplete or corrupted archives. Handling and validating output files is your responsibility.
3. No Malware, Virus, or Vulnerability Scanning
CRITICAL NOTICE: DriveForge does not inspect, scan, sanitize, or filter archive contents for malicious code, zip-bombs, ransomware, malware, scripts, or path traversal vulnerabilities.
Opening, downloading, decompressing, or saving archives containing hazardous, compromised, or infected files is performed entirely at your own risk. The developer assumes zero liability for device infection, system compromise, or data corruption resulting from untrusted archives.
4. User Conduct, Misuse, and Legal Compliance
- You agree not to use DriveForge to process, store, distribute, or compress illegal material, copyrighted material without permission, or files violating Google Drive Acceptable Use policies.
- You are solely responsible for compliance with applicable local and international laws governing your data. The developer disclaims all liability for any illicit, unlawful, or unauthorized use of the tool by end users.
5. Strict Disclaimer of Warranties ("AS IS")
DRIVEFORGE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, BUG-FREE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY SYSTEM.
6. Comprehensive Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, HARDWARE DAMAGE, SYSTEM CRASHES, GOOGLE ACCOUNT ACTION, OR API QUOTA EXHAUSTION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THIS APPLICATION.
